- Abstract
The article discusses the inhibition of protein kinase C (PKC) in diabetic nephropathy. It explains the role of hyperglycemia in the pathogenesis of microvascular diabetic complications, along with the impact of hyperglycemia on PKC activation. The significance of PKC&alpha to glomerular barrier and albuminuria regulation is described. The article also emphasizes the importance of the simultaneous inhibition of PKCα and PKC&Beta in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy.
