- Abstract
Past medical history included morbid obesity, umbilical hernia and an Orbera Intragastric Balloon System (Apollo Endosurgery Inc., Austin, TX, USA) inserted 3 years prior. An abdominal computed tomography scan identified a radiodense structure positioned within a distal small bowel loop, with proximal small bowel obstruction (Fig. The Meckel's diverticulum is positioned to the left side of the photograph, with the deflated black intragastric balloon situated inside and extending out towards the right. gl To the authors' knowledge, this is the first report of a small bowel obstruction caused by intragastric balloon impacting inside a Meckel's diverticulum.
