The article presents an analysis of the motion pictures "Precious" directed by Lee Daniels and "Bastard out of Carolina" directed by Anjelica Huston. It discusses their adaptations from the novels, the rape of children and the subsequent shame felt by the children, and the effect of shame on the viewer.
