The article offers criticism of the film "Picnic at Hanging Rock" directed by Peter Weir and adapted from the book "Picnic at Hanging Rock" by Joan Lindsay. The author discusses Weir's use of Australian Aboriginal mythology and their concept of dreamtime as well as Weir's use of plot and setting to create a dreamlike atmosphere. The author compares Weir's film technique to music, and mentions his use of traditional aboriginal wooden instruments and other sound effects to craft his soundscapes.
