The article examines the use of proline-rich tyrosine kinase 2 (PYK2) in regulating bone formation. A member of the focal adhesion kinase family, PYK2 has been found to regulate osteoblastogenesis and osteoblast activity. Ovariectomized rats were used a model of post-menopausal osteoporosis in testing its pharmacological modulation.
