- Abstract
The article presents the response of Bruce Thompson to the commentary on his work entitled "Two and One-Half Decades of Leadership in Measurement and Evaluation." I hope my discussion of five technical issues, as examples of the explosion of knowledge, did not detract from my message that the Association for Measurement and Evaluation in Counseling and Development (AMECD) has certainly been involved in offering leadership with respect to both practice and research. The catalog of accomplishments in the first genre is discussed earlier in my article and hopefully will not be lost due to recency effects. Perhaps, primary effects will remind readers of the three previous accomplishments and of the three more recent additional developments, that were elaborated earlier in the article. These focused on somewhat less technical aspects of AMECD leadership. I believe that the balance of AMECD leadership for all sorts of folk, is amply reflected in the four American Association for Counseling and Development (AACD) awards for AACD/AMECD members, nominated by the AMECD board, which were distributed at the annual AACD convention in Reno, Nevada, a few days after this response was written. Two AMECD members garnered impressive research awards. Don Zytowski won the 1991 AACD Extended Research award and Nadya Fouad won the 1991 Ralph Berdie award.
