In this article, the author analyzes the eleventh ode of Bacchylides. The author says that the most of the ode is concerning two myths about Tiryns, the extinct Greek city. The author introduces a new dimension in this context by taking into account the relationship between the mythical tradition and the ritually expressed social process of the city state.
