- Abstract
The article discusses findings from a study by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), depicting problems of mental health treatment gap for children and adolescents in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Particular focus is given towards the benefits of the mental health gap action plan by the World Health Organization, providing mental health treatment among children and adolescents. It also outlines the need for national policy and guidance on appropriate screening and diagnostic tools.
