The article focuses on John Homer Seger, American educator and had been recruited to build and repair houses and other structures at the agency and the nearby Arapaho Manual Labor and Boarding School. It mentions he learned to communicate using the Arapaho language and later developed sign language to communicate with both the Cheyennes and Arapahos. It also mentions he struggled personally with command of the English language and accept allotments of land.
