- Abstract
Throughout history it has been seen that the concept of fatherhood has been modified due to the changes different societies have gone through, so that men's patterns of behavior toward pregnancy, childbirth and parenting have evolved into more affective fatherhood forms and not only into those merely related to material suppliers. The aforementioned has brought about that in the case of the loss of a child in the perinatal period males experience a significant impact on psychological and psychosocial aspects that affects their quality of life. The purpose of this paper is to briefly present information on this topic as well as the clinical experience on the psychological management of parenthood and perinatal loss in men.
