- Abstract
The article tackles the findings of a study on the immune responses in fa/fa Zucker rats and the impact of feeding conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers on immune function. The study found that the splenocyte phospholipid (PL) of fa/fa rats had greater proportion of total monounsaturated fatty acids and n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids. Less concanavalin A (ConA)-stimulated Interleukin (IL)-2 were produced by the splenocytes of fa/fa rats. The splenocytes of obese rats had reduced T-cell function.
