The article presents a study on the sequential effects of an high-fat and high-calorie (HFC) diet. Mice were randomly assigned to consume either the control of the HFC diet. The study found that genes involved in fatty acid oxidation were initially upregulated and then dornregulated, whereas the lipogenic genes and genes involved in cholesterol synthesis showed reverse trends.
