- Abstract
The article profiles Dr. Arvid Carlsson who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine/Physiology in 2000 in Uppsala, Sweden. Dr. Carlsson showed that dopamine was a neurotransmitter in the brain while Levodopa was effective on treating Parkinsonism. He presented that dopamine promotes development of extrapyramidal side effects of antipsychotic medications. Moreover, he opposed on water fluoridation in his country.
