- Abstract
The article deals with investing of generation Z with an emphasis on gender differences and how they perceive aspects of peer-to-peer (P2P) investing. 393 respondents took part on a survey to answer five research questions. Gender dimensions, financial dimensions and predictors of investment risk perception are tested. The article uses testing methods and analyses: t-test of two independent samples, simple OLS model, Mann-Whitney U test, Wilcoxon rank sum test, and multiple linear regression models. Gender differences were not confirmed in the willingness to invest, in the degree to which the possibility of good portfolio diversification in P2P investing is considered important, or in the size of the portion of disposable income that potential investors of generation Z are willing to invest. The relationship between the amount of net income and the willingness to invest in P2P loans was also not proven. The findings also show that statistically significant predictors of investment risk aversion are gender, age, amount of net monthly income, the perceived importance of the advantage of passive income from P2P investing and the perceived importance of other investment criteria - profitability and liquidity. The findings can be used by potential investors themselves, not only from Generation Z, but also by administrators or marketing decision makers of P2P investment platforms.
