- Abstract
The article deals with the role of Native Patient Navigators (NPN) in providing services to American Indians (AI) cancer patients. Topics discussed include the geographic rates of cancer incidence and mortality in AI, the role of the Native American Cancer Research Corp. (NACR) in encouraging NPN to provide care, and the relationship of hospital staff with NPN. An overview of indigenous belief influencing AI patients is offered.
