- Abstract
The article discusses the diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome on Anton Chekhov's character Gaev in his 1904 play "The Cherry Orchard." Topics discussed include similarities between Gaev's eccentric characteristics and traits found in people with Asperger Syndrome and ways the character's combination of eccentric behavior humor and articulate insight reflect complexities of Chekhov's play.
