- Abstract
The article discusses the rediscovery of Erysiphe clandistina, a powdery mildew pathogen, on elm (Ulmus) in Germany. In October 2004, infected elm trees were seen in two parks and a riparian forest. The mycelium was amphigenus, with abundant chasmothecia in four cases. Conidiophores were erect and form solitary. Chasmothecia contain many two-spored asci. The park specimens are deposited at the Herbarium of the State Museum of Natural History of Görlitz. Reinoculation tests were not performed as no further specific symptoms were seen.
