- Abstract
The article discusses about the Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). It is a group of clonal disorders and has a variable risk of transformation to acute leukemia. It is described that there is an inverse relationship between maximum serum ferritin concentration during follow-up and median overall survival. Studies involving patients, selecting on the basis of previous treatment which includes chemotherapy and iron chelation, is mentioned and the outcome including charts are presented.
