- Authors
Antoon, James W.; Bradford, Kathleen K.
- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 4-year-old Caucasian boy who was suffering from fever since a month even after being treated in 3 different hospitals. All tests carried out earlier revealed that the child was in no acute distress, however, before transfer an analysis of the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) was consistent with meningitis. Early diagnosis is critical, since delay can result in complications including coma, renal failure, and death.
