- Abstract
The article aims to gain a deeper pedagogic understanding of transformational processes in the life course, using the example of the transition into retirement. Linking Hartmut Rosa’s resonance theory, transformational education processes, and practicetheoretical transition research, the paper asks, among other things, how resonance is experienced in transition and how potentially transformational education processes emerge. In a mixed-methods design, quantitative panel data from the German Ageing Survey are triangulated with findings from qualitative case studies. The findings show that resonance experiences unfold in a composition of processual transition constellations and practices, and open up spaces which enable transformations in the relationship between self and world.
