- Abstract
The present article makes an overview of different misunderstandings types that might occur in collaborative engineering teams together with analyzing some possible risky situations (consequences) linked to them. The reference analysis has conduct to a theoretical framework proposed as a model for the misunderstandings analysis. The proposed model was tested using "Politehnica" University of Timisoara (UPT) involvement in The European Manufacturing and Innovation Research Association a cluster leading excellence, a virtual community (www.emiracle.eu). In the final part of the presented research, a list of advices for cross-cultural communication skills improvement are presented in order to facilitate the knowledge sharing and members interaction in a particular collaborative engineering team as the EMIRAcle is. In addition, the analysis of the existing and used knowledge sharing tools is developed to better understand the misunderstandings that have been identified and to overcome them.
