- Abstract
This article examines the legacy of Harold Wilson, a former Labour leader and Prime Minister, and explores what current Labour leader Keir Starmer could learn from Wilson's time in office. Wilson was known for his left-wing views and his ability to navigate the complexities of government and party leadership. While his economic policies faced criticism, Wilson's administrations saw a reduction in inequality and a focus on industry and social reforms. The article suggests that Starmer could learn from Wilson's ability to manage party factions and balance different wings of the Labour Party, as well as his delivery of progressive policies and pragmatic leadership style.
