- Abstract
Background: Mastitis is is an intramammary infection that affects dairy cattle and the milk quality; the yeast (Candida no albicans, Trichosporon sp, Cryptococcus sp) have ventured as emergent of this infection, because of bad pharmacological treatments, principaly. Objectives: To analyse the microbiological milk quality of beef cattle females with mastitis by yeast and to determine the antifungal sensibility. Methods: To antifungal isolament, 52 milk samples of beef catlle females with subclinical mastitis from three farms (San Salvador el Seco, Puebla, Mexico) were processed. The isolament was made by conventional microbiological techniques. CHROMagar Candida BD® y Auxacolor®Bio-Rad were used for biochemical identification and antifungal sensibility by recommended procedures of Clinical Laboratory Standard Institute (CLSI) and analized by non parametrical descriptive statistics. Results: A widely ethiological diversity was obtained, conformed by three genus and six species: Candida glabrata (47.8%), C.kruzei (26%), Cryptococcus laurenty (8.7%), Rhodotorula rubra (8.7%), R.glutinis (4.4%) y C.lipolytica (4.4%). The sensibility to Amphotericin B (100% C.glabrata, C.kruzei, C.laurenty; R.rubra; R.glutinis, C.lipolytica,); Ketoconazole (C.glabrata 90.9% y 100% C.kruzei, C.laurenty, R.rubra, R. glutinis, C.lipolytica); Nystatin (C.glabrata 90.9% y 100% C.kruzei, C.laurenty, R.rubra, R.glutinis, C.lipolytica); Fluconazole (C.glabrata, 63.63%, C.kruzei 83.3%, C.laurenty, 0%, R.rubra, 0%, R.glutinis 0%, C.lipolytica 100%) y 5-fluorocytosine (C.glabrata, 54.50%, C.kruzei 50%, C.laurenty 0%, R.rubra 0%, R.glutinis 0%, C.lipolytica 100%). Conclusions: Emergent yeasts were found involved in beef mastitis, affecting the animal health and the dairy products quality with a repercussion in public health. Amphotecin B, ketoconazole and nystatin had and excellent sensibility against the differents genus analysed but fluconazole and 5- fluorocytosine do not had any effect against Cryptococcus laurenty, Rhodotorula rubra, R. glutinis.
