- Abstract
The article presents information related to Neurocysticercosis (NCC), which is an infection of the central nervous system caused by the larval form of the tapeworm Taenia solium. It has been informed that a compatible clinical history, positive serology and typical Computed Tomography (CT) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are conventional methods to diagnose NCC. It has been informed that NCC is a major cause of epilepsy and disability in various poor countries of the world. It has been stated the Clinical Research Consortium (NACC), a recently formed group of physicians, highlighted areas of research need, and advance knowledge for treatment for various forms of NCC.
