- Authors
Valéério, Miguel
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights regarding the diachronic acrophony of the Linear A Du and Cypriut Su. He mentions that some of the ideograms of Linear A and Linear B counterparts were designed by acrophonic abbreviation such as AB30, a representation of phonetic value of ni. He states that a simple mnemonics was allowed to be created in the writing system built on the principle where syllabograms of Linear A were assigned phonetic values. He says that the Linear AB51 du which has no known comparable hieroglyphic sign was significant due to its demonstration of an early presence iconic archetype in Crete. He present the instances where the syllabogram was not damaged wherein it possess graphical characteristics such as perceptible and well-marked crook and human anatomy.
