- Abstract
The authors present their experience with pregnant women with novel H1N1 influenza at the Auckland City Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. They mention that the influenza pandemic was associated with the increase in pregnant women presenting with influenza-like illnesses (ILI). They state that the pregnant women with ILI were isolated, and medical staff were to take full isolation precautions in order to avoid transmission to other pregnant women. Furthermore, the characteristics of the pregnant women who required intensive care unit (ICU) support were examined.
