- Authors

- Abstract
Presents a letter to the editor in regard to a study by Herman-Giddens and colleagues on infanticide when newborns are killed or left to die by their parents. Conclusion of the study authors that services were needed to address the issue of pregnancy outcomes in unmarried teenagers, despite a finding that some of the parents were married and aged 21 or older; Suggestion that the older group who murder their infants might be similar to the "mabiki" phenomenon in Japan; Opinion that there are other motives for neonaticide, not just the need to conceal the birth of an illegitimate infant.
