- Abstract
Education in Brazil, in most of our schools, is still based on conventional teaching, employing conservative resources such as slates and lecture-style teaching. In Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), this is not very different; teaching methodologies and techniques are centered around content reproduction and transmission, resulting in uncritical and reflexively passive learning. To contribute to the improvement of the teaching and learning process, this study developed the Integrative Method (MINT). MINT is a simulated environment that combines elements of gamification theory, experiential learning, and active methodologies. The proposed method integrates the concepts of making, designing, and entrepreneurship. It utilizes technological resources along with the dynamics of a board game. This environment has been named praXis (production process simulator) and is still being refined. The beta version of the software (referred to as the platform) has already been tested for two years in undergraduate business administration classes, production engineering classes, and a post-secondary logistics course. The results are significant and point to praXis as an educational resource that enhances learning, enabling the practice of fundamental organizational management concepts.
