The article discusses the European court case Denise McDonagh v Ryanair Ltd. wherein passenger McDonagh filed a lawsuit against the airline for failing to reimburse her cost for meals and accommodation when her flight was cancelled due to volcanic eruptions. It states that McDonagh was stranded for one week and has not received any assistance from Rynair. The European Court of Justice reportedly ruled in favor of McDonagh and ordered Ryanair to reimburse the costs she incurred due to the delay.
