- Abstract
In this paper, we propose an index and a spatial panel model to measure the impact of precariousness on income inequalities at the subnational level in Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico. Using microdata from Household Surveys of each country, we estimate spatial panel models to capture the effects of labour precariousness on the regional income differences relative to the leader region of each country. The results show a link between regional inequalities and labour market performance indicators related to living and labour market conditions.
