- Abstract
This article discusses the fragility of the presence of Francophone culture in contemporary Canadian society. Although changed, there is still a sense of linguistic and cultural identity in the North-American community. French language authors illustrate this reality through the creation of fictional characters which relate to the world through their experience as a French speaking individual. The presence of this identity is discussed through the work "Accordion Crimes" by Annie Proulx.
