A literary criticism of the book "Journal" by Marie Uguay is presented. It outlines the context in which this diary was written; Uguay was fighting a cancer that finally took her life. The narrative technique of Uguay is examined, as well as her relation with her own body, which had a leg amputated because of the cancer, and the feeling of emptiness with which she had to deal.
