- Abstract
The article focuses on the parentage of Robert Logan of the Red River Settlement, which is now Winnipeg. Until now the identity of the father of Robert Logan has been unknown. However, the birth date, place, and parentage of Robert Logan can now be authoritatively stated. He was born in September, 1778 and baptized at St. Thomas in the East Parish, Jamaica. He was the first of six known children born to Robert Logan Sr. Robert Logan Sr. lived in Jamaica from at least 1773 to 1797. He returned to England by 1815 when he purchased a home in Egham, Surrey. His will was written on 1 August, 1826.
