- Abstract
The article discusses the answer to a photo quiz on the diagnosis on a French sailor with fever. The diagnosis was a Plasmodium vivax infection accompanied by microgametes, organisms which are dense and curved, and has nuclei. The author mentions that the diagnosis was a result of a microscopic examination of the blood smears, and antigen detection test, from which the results suggests parasitemia. A photograph of the result of the microscopic test on the blood smear, where the Giesma-satined blood showed a microgamete with a cell nucleus.
