- Abstract
The article focuses on the study related to the transcription factor correlated with clinical progression in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. The IKZF3 transcription factor, encoded by the gene IKZF3 located on chromosome 17q12, is a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins, which controls mature B-lymphocyte differentiation and proliferation. The findings must be confirmed in a large B-CLL cohort and further investigations regarding the role of IKZF3 in human B-CLL are necessary.
