The article offers information on several laws and issues related to the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 in the U.S. and analyzes several amendments in the enactment and damage laws in the maritime industry. Topics discussed include the Supreme Court case Robins Dry Dock & Repair Co. v. Flint for recovery of economic damages due to maritime tort, adoption of the TESTBANK expansion of the robins rule by the Congress, objective of the new legislation to reduce oil spill litigation.
