- Abstract
The article offers information on the basics of nonprofit governance in the U.S. It provides the missions of nonprofit organizations as well as common challenges they encounter. Some examples of frauds caused by the absence of good governance are presented. Also discussed are the requirements imposed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on nonprofit organizations and the applicable of the law of nonprofit corporate governance to directors serving on their boards.
