- Abstract
Six compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate extract of a medicinal insect, Holotrichia diomphalia Bates. They were identified as 3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxylbenzoic acid (1), salicylic acid (2), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (3), 3-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoie acid (4), 4-hydroxyphenylpropionie acid (5), and 4-hydroxyphenylpropionic methyl ester (6), by using spectroscopic methods. All these compounds were isolated from this species for the first time.
