- Abstract
The article reports that the Health Department of Monterey County, California created a public service program aimed at improving the health of the Hispanic population living in Salinas Valley, California. Even though this region of California is known for its production of fresh fruits and vegetables, most Hispanics in the region do not consume enough fresh produce, and seven out of ten are overweight. The Health Department created a large scale marketing campaign to encourage people to have healthier diets. This campaign included television and radio ads as well as public art and celebrity partnerships.
