Title
The costs of infection and resistance as determinants of West Nile virus susceptibility in Culex mosquitoes.
Abstract
The article presents a study on the costs of infection and resistance as determinants of West Nile virus (WNV) susceptibility in Culex mosquitoes. WNV used for experimentation were derived from WNV NY003356, isolated from an American crow in 2000 from Staten Island, New York. Mosquito bodies and legs were separated and placed in individual tubes with 1 ml mosquito diluent plus one 5 mm metal bead.
