- Abstract
Behavioral problems in children are one of the main demands of parents in clinical psychology centers. This work is a single case study with a minor diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who presented maladaptive verbal behavior with interruptions and a very high tone of voice during conversation. The first objective was to develop and strengthen behaviors that are incompatible with these through "say-do (S-D)" correspondence training that consists of reinforcing the consistency that occurs when an individual does what they have previously said. Using a descriptive functional analysis, the hypothesis was that both behaviors were part of the same kind of response and they would covariate, so it was established to work with one of them and observe the effect on both. A partial interval register was used for this. The last objective was to assess its maintenance and generalization. The results showed a reduction in both behaviors throughout the intervention and they indicate the effectiveness and efficiency of the combined use of this training with the descriptive functional analysis of behavior for the proposed objectives.
