- Abstract
The article focuses on the utilization of less lethal force by civilian law enforcement personnel to crowd or riot control in the U.S. It mentions that conducted electrical devices (CEDs) are the most common less lethal tools used by law enforcement agencies which delivers a series of pulsed electrical shocks. It notes that the availability of options for less lethal devices would prompt emergency physicians to be called upon to assess patients who have been subjected to less lethal force.
