- Abstract
The mid-sixties saw the Modern Movement space being questioned. Attempts that tended to dematerialise the limits of space were carried out from both countercultural and pop perspectives. Supergraphics became a strategy with which to stage all these transformations. Filmography from these years presents many examples of the new spatialities that arose through the graphic treatment of architectural surfaces. These proposals fuelled the architectural imaginary of a generation that introduced substantial modifications to modern space. The equal understanding of productions from the real and fictional spheres came to integrate different ways of thinking about space, adding a third dimension that did not seem to belong exclusively to either the real or the fictional spheres, but rather to the social imaginary. The construction of reality, therefore, was largely influenced and determined by new cinematographic spatialities.
