The article looks at the development of dramatic British television series targeted at female audiences by female writers and producers from 1990-2009. It discusses the decreasing percentage of women in the creative workforce and how it impacts job opportunities for women. Specific attention is given to how television award ceremonies such as the Peabodys, Emmys, and BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) indicate the acceptance and achievement of women in the television industry.
