- Abstract
We present the results from a chemical analysis of dust samples collected in a sinter shop. Grates with dust suction in the immediate vicinity of the hot grate are proposed for dust reduction in industrial premises. The work performed in this paper supports improvement of screen reliability, reduces the negative pressure differential, and ultimately reduces energy costs by preventing the channel openings from becoming clogged with falling chunks of the material being transported. A calculation was performed to obtain the grate area and linear dimensions required to meet performance specifications, and strength calculations were performed to determine the cross-sections of the grates and the assemblies used to attach the grates to the beams.
