- Abstract
The article focuses on a research study that aimed to integrate behavioural and neuroimaging data into the hedonic and homeostatic drives of eating behaviour. A background is provided including knowledge gained from animal experiments and the common model of body homeostasis in humans. Brain areas involved in eating behaviour include the hypothalamus and the primary gustatory cortex. The mediation of peptide hormones in important nutritional feedback signals are discussed which include peptide YY, ghrelin, and glucagon-like peptide-1.
