- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a 41-year-old man who was treated with daptomycin for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) septic arthritis. His medical history included haemoglobin sickle-cell disease and asymptomatic, antiretroviral-treatment-naive HIV infection. He was taken to a hospital because of a swollen left knee. The author addresses the need to conduct randomized controlled trials to examine the effectiveness of daptomycin in osteoarticular infections.
