- Title
Atmospheric science: Fire down under.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the study conducted by Wenju Cai of Commonwealth Scientific & Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and colleagues on the impact of temperature shift of the Indian Ocean to a heightened risk of fire in Aspendale, Australia. The study found that the temperature shift of the Indian Ocean preceded 11 of the 21 significant bush fire seasons in the country. The team suggests the possibility of severe fires to occur frequently if temperatures continue to rise.
