- Abstract
The article reports on the study which examines the clinical syndrome called psychopathy or the lack of empathy. It employs the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) rating scale, a tool that psychiatrist use to determine the personality and behavioral traits that define the syndrome. Normally empathetic people are compared with those who lack empathy to identify whether psychopaths are able to disconnect their recognition of others' emotions from their own emotions. Moreover, it is believed that results of this study could lead to a level of understanding or even to a treatment.
