- Abstract
This work is a subject of research focused on the preferences of values and their relations with the styles of professional functioning, self-esteem and satisfaction with life in the group of managers. The study group consisted of 360 people in a supervisory position at work, divided in terms of the industry they deal with. To verify the hypotheses there were used of the Value Survey RVS, the Self-Esteem Scale SES and the Satisfaction with Life Scale SWLS. The variables "Wisdom", "Ambition" and "Health" showed the greatest prediction on the level of self-esteem (45.9% variance, R = .685). Life satisfaction depends on the importance of "Self-Respect", "Loyalty" and "Tolerance" (39% variance, R = .647). Work records shed new light on the relationship between value preferences and self-esteem and on the issue of life satisfaction among managers. The obtained analyses show a picture of the manager's functioning in the professional and private spheres and are useful in personality psychology and management psychology.
